Trying new things - Creative Colour Placement

Hi Friends
Right now with everything going on and being unable to work, I decided to try something new. I recently showed a project I had done to Jennifer Dove who runs Copic Bootcamp. She loved what I had done but wanted to push me to go outside of my comfort zone. She wanted me to try creating my own face on one of Ann's images by using Creative Colour Placement.

I wanted to do some no line colour with copics as well. First I masked off the face on the image (Holly -Cheer Up) and then stamped the image with Birch Stamp Anniething hybrid ink

This is what the original image looked like next to the image where I practiced Creative Colour Placement...Now I will admit that my partner is a little freaked out by this image and in a way I can see that but the purpose of this exercise is to try something new and step outside of that box I have been in for the last little while. Even though those who I have showed it to have had mixed reactions to this, I am still proud of it and proud of myself. I tried something new and as a result I have grown as a colourist. In these times when we are stuck in our homes and the world is feeling a little scary and small, now is the perfect time to expand your horizons and try something new...learn new things and have fun with it.

I hope you are all safe and well, and I encourage you to use this time to be extra creative...try something new.

Love You

Hi everyone! It's Meg here, and today I'm sharing another Valentine creation with you, using Chloe & Sam. I kept it simple, and used only the Falling Hearts stencil too, allowing the characters to take center stage.

I love that the stencil is etched deep, which means that using a glitter paste results in a lovely raised image! Here, I've used Nuvo Moonstone.

Coloring details:
skin - E04, 13, 11, 00, 000, 0000, R22, 21, 11
girl hair - YR27, 24, Y26, 21
boy hair - 100, C7, 5, 4, 2
red - R59, 29, 24, 22
gray - C7, 5, 4, 2, 0
shirt - YR24, Y26, E47, 44, 43, 42

See y'all next time!

No Lion, You're the Best!!

Hi there, Nicole here today with a card to share.

I used the "Falling Hearts" stencil for my background along with "Blossom Hybrid Ink" .  I started by inking up my stencil from the top of the stencil and worked downward using a lighter hand as I worked towards the bottom of the stencil to create a variegated effect.  Afterwards I went over the entire thing with the ink blender again and trying to continue with the variegated effect.

The image and the sentiment are from "Zac-Lion-No Lion You're the Best".   I embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder and attached a white enamel heart next to it.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!!
