Believe

Hi everyone! This is GiGi from The Cricut Bug and I have a card to share.
I used the Toothfairy digital stamp to create my card.

I started this card with a standard A2 card base and added a mat with the corners cut out with the Corner Edger Dies.
I created a texture background using the Diamond Ball Cross Hatch stencil and then inked lightly over the top.
I printed and colored Toothfairy with Copic Markers and added her on pop dots.
To finish, I added the words cut from the Believe Word Die.

I hope you all liked my card for today and thanks for visiting!

a Fun Little Challenge during this "social distancing" time!

HI everyone! Annie here!
During this social distancing time, I was able to play around and push myself a smidge with some things I have never tried before. Mainly, GLASS!

A few of the DT and I teamed up with Jennifer Dove and Barbara Sproatmeyer to do a collab of a combo of an Whimsy Stamps image and a Stamp Anniething Image.  We just had to make water a part of our project and let our imagination go wild!   And boy did we ever!

Needless to say, when I first heard of the challenge, my imagination got the best of me and I bit off more than I could chew.  In my head, I had the MOST fabulous scene created.... Our Kelsey Fairy, sitting on the little Mason jar filled with fireflies overlooking a gorgeous enchanted waterfall.  Being my first time attempting many of these elements (water fall, glass, fire flies).... I did not execute it AT ALL as I pictured it.  So... scrapped that idea (but you can see it below).. and tried another, less full scene project.

That brought me to Julie, Ahoy Matey standing in FRONT of the BIG mason jar stamp with her buried pirate treasure in the sea.  Ok I admit, I love the scene in the glass jar, but as you can see.... I was still learning how to do the glass effect.  Definitely a step up from the Fairy image!

So now I was on a roll and enjoying trying this glass effect out... so I went to a third project!  I took Madison and put her IN the Jar, as if she was in a pool of water.  I tried to do some reflective water on the bottom of the jar as the light would hit in the pool.

As you can see, Im still learning myself on new techniques and things to try in the Copic and coloring world!  I had fun, and I definitely saw an improvement in my technique the more I did the jars.  Just goes to show you, practice does indeed heed improvement.!  It will be a REALLY fun idea for me to come back to this in a year or so and do my Fairy scene again and see how much I've improved from this year to that!

Hop on over to the other challengers blogs to see their wonderful creations!

Trying new things - Creative Colour Placement

Hi Friends
Right now with everything going on and being unable to work, I decided to try something new. I recently showed a project I had done to Jennifer Dove who runs Copic Bootcamp. She loved what I had done but wanted to push me to go outside of my comfort zone. She wanted me to try creating my own face on one of Ann's images by using Creative Colour Placement.

I wanted to do some no line colour with copics as well. First I masked off the face on the image (Holly -Cheer Up) and then stamped the image with Birch Stamp Anniething hybrid ink

This is what the original image looked like next to the image where I practiced Creative Colour Placement...Now I will admit that my partner is a little freaked out by this image and in a way I can see that but the purpose of this exercise is to try something new and step outside of that box I have been in for the last little while. Even though those who I have showed it to have had mixed reactions to this, I am still proud of it and proud of myself. I tried something new and as a result I have grown as a colourist. In these times when we are stuck in our homes and the world is feeling a little scary and small, now is the perfect time to expand your horizons and try something new...learn new things and have fun with it.

I hope you are all safe and well, and I encourage you to use this time to be extra creative...try something new.

Until Next Time - Stephen
