Bokeh Technique Background

Hi everyone! This is GiGi from The Cricut Bug and it's my day to post a Technique Tuesday.
I have a tutorial to share of how I created the background of my card using the Bokeh Technique.

I started with a 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 inch piece of white cardstock.
I used the Stamp AnnieThing Inks in Caribbean Blue, Heather, and Shocking Pink to ink blend the background.

After the background was ink blended I used the Bubble Stencil, dabbing on white Acrylic paint with a sponge.

After it was dry, I rotated the stencil to the opposite side and did this process again. This gave the bubbles a layered, pixelated look.
I cut out the background using a scallop rectangle mat along with a strip of white for the sentiment.
I stamped and colored Sofia and her bubbles using Copic Markers and mounted her on pop dots.

I hope you all liked my project for today and thanks for visiting!
Have a great day!

Don't let anyone burst your bubble....

Hey Peeps...

Christine here from Cards By Christine - it's my turn today to share a card with you - so I'm here with gorgeous Sofia who was a joy to colour.  I'd bought this bubble die at a show a little while back - and I've been waiting for the right opportunity to use it, and so Sofia with her bubble blowing was the perfect choice!  I diecut the bubble in gold mirri card - but it's difficult to photograph so you'll have to use your imagination...

Products Used:
Dies - Alexandra Renke Bubble Die,
Lil' Inkers Stitched Rectangle
Paper - Doodlebug Designs Spring Things,
Anna Marie Designs Lilac Dotty
Colouring - Copics
Gold Mirri Card

Hope you like what I did, and that you'll pop back tomorrow for more inspiration.

Happy Crafting
Christine x

Theme Week Challenge 18 with GiGi

Hello! Design team member GiGi is up on the blog today. She is sharing her project for Theme Week 18, Summertime Challenge. GiGi picked out Sofia and colored her with Copic Markers. Her dress is paper pieced with a pink gingham pattern paper.  Blowing bubbles is a fun summer activity and we love the circle pattern she used as a background.  Looks like Sofia has been blowing lots of bubbles. 😃 To find out more about this card, visit The Cricut Bug.

Bubbletastic Watercolor

Hey stampers! It's Kevin back with another watercolored card. Topics have been my go-to coloring medium for a little while now but it's always nice to change things up a little bit. Check it out!

I started by stamping stamping out the newly released Sofia- Bubble Burst. I colored her in with some Distress Inks, which I also created the background with. I fussy cut her out and added a sentiment strip which was colored with more Distress Inks. I white heat embossed it, which you can't see very well in the photo but in real life its legible.

This was a super fun hard to create and would be perfect for more summer cards!
